Stories about Eliza from around 2

Stories about Eliza from around the time she turned two.
We were walking in the house from going grocery shopping and usually I carry you, but when I carry groceries, you walk yourself. There was a solid foot of snow on the ground and you couldn't help yourself but to take a few steps in. At which point you got a little stuck and subsequently tripped right down into the snow! Eleanor all but disappeared and you were so upset because now your hands were all cold and snowy! It was so sad and I wanted to take a picture, but I just couldn't do that to you since I know how much cold snow hurts on your hands. We cleaned you up and you were concerned that Eleanor had so much snow on her ;)

One night you woke up crying and crying. I woke up your Daddy because he often can calm you much more quickly and effectively than I can at this time. So he went in and you told him you wanted your book, which happened to be "Goodnight Gorilla." As soon as it was in hand you were content to go back to sleep and said, "oh tank you Da-ee." A couple hours later you were awake again and I went in this time. You wanted to rock rock, so I picked you up and began rocking in our chair. You asked for "suhshine" and "Bibow" and when I finished you lifted your head up. I asked if you were ready to go back to bed and you said, "Okay." I laid you down and you said, "oh tank you Mommy." Melt my heart!

One day we went to the museum and I brought you a juice box for lunch. If I remember correctly, you'd only had a juice box on your second birthday to that point but as soon as I pulled it out of the lunch box you exclaimed, "juice box!" I put the straw in and got it ready as you eagerly grabbed for it. I warned not to squeeze, but squeeze you did and it squirted all down your shirt. You were very upset and said, "OH NO!" And looked down SO sad. I said it was ok and wiped it away and then you happily drank your juice and said to me, "tank you Mommy."

Lately you have learned what it means to feel sad. I think this has come from the accident we had with Eleanor in which you tossed her onto the hot stove and her two little feet got burnt :( Eleanor was very sad to have a boo-boo. You tell most everyone about her boo-boo although it has now been several weeks since it happened. When I tell you that it's time for bed or that it's time to stop doing one thing to do another and you are disappointed you will usually hang your head down with the most pathetic and cute "sad" face and say, "I sad." Oh my goodness, it's more than I can handle! Almost always, though, you gain your composure and move along as quickly as you initially became sad :)

One morning you asked for Daddy several times and since we were headed out soon, I asked if you wanted to go see him. You replied enthusiastically, "OKAY!" and proceeded to get your coat, hat and boots. While I was putting my shoes on, you ran in the living room and came back with a piece of paper and said, "pur-po, Da-ee." I asked if you made a picture for Daddy and you said, "okay." Which means yes ;) So we got in the car, at which point you got upset about something and crumpled up the paper and threw it. I asked why you did that and tried to give it back to you so you could give it to Daddy, but you didn't want it. So I held onto it until we got to Daddy's work. When we arrived I handed it back to you and told you to give it to him when he came to see you. It took him awhile to come outside, so in the meantime, you blew your nose on it ;) Daddy loved it nonetheless :)
